Zeki's Euro Trip

ROMA!!!

Rome is the capital city of Italy, and that’s where we are! It has been so fun here.

Once we got off the train, we walked straight to our apartment, but we had to walk up MORE stairs. DUN DUN DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Our apartment was on the 3rd floor, however, it was worth climbing the stairs for.

The apartment was amazing! There were enough beds for everyone, so no-one complained about having to sleep on the couch, and there was a really cool painting of a woman in a field. She seemed to move her mouth👄, eyes😨 and the background did too. 💒 It was a creepy painting.

On the first night, we pretty much did nothing. We played on our devices, we did homework, the usual.  After about half an hour, we went for a walk to get dinner. For once, Chloe, Luke and I all got the same thing. Spaghetti with bacon and cheese. Dad got cannelloni and Bel got carbonara.

After dinner, we went back to the apartment. We were all very tired, so we went to sleep. I woke up to the sound of dad and bel saying “Wake up, Zeki.”

I thought out loud and said ” UUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!”

“We’re going to see the colosseum today”. I jumped out of bed and got ready. I couldn’t wait!

Once we got to the colosseum, I realised how big it was. It was huge! The colosseum was where gladiators fought to the death back before the second century BC. It would not be fun to be a gladiator in those times. Having to kill people for entertainment is HORRIBLE!

The colosseum was just as cool as I expected. It even had a huge maze under the arena that trapdoors led to! It’s a shame that we weren’t allowed in there. We also had to do a lot of walking (just like always) but thats ok, Rome has amazing buildings and ruins.

Once we got home, we just relaxed until dinner AKA veggies with steak and mashed potatoes. Then we went to bed and slept. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ😴😴😴😴😴😴😴

When we got up, we got ready to go to the Vatican City. I thought that it would be so fun! But it turns out, that I waited for hours in line…. To see something that wasn’t very exciting. All it had were some paintings, lemons you couldn’t pick and grass you couldn’t walk on. I really didn’t like it that much.

After that, we went back home and had a nice, relaxing afternoon. For dinner, we had bangers & mash as well as pasta with bacon and cheese. If only there was no salad.

Dessert was my favourite part of the day. We went to a MAKE YOUR OWN MAGNUM SHOP!!!!!!!! You chose a flavour (chocolate or vanilla). Then, you chose what chocolate goes around the ice-cream (white, milk or dark). After that, you choose toppings. Finally, you choose what flavour to drizzle on top (white, dark or milk chocolate). IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!

After that, we went to Trevi Fountain and threw coins in. Apparently, you get to come back to rome if you throw it from your right hand over your left shoulder. So Chloe, Luke and I will come back to rome someday.

On the last day, we went to the Pantheon and the spanish steps. I counted 169 spanish steps. we weren’t allowed inside the pantheon though, since it was too early.

Then we took a taxi to the airport and here we are.

THE END (OF ITALY AT LEAST)

OMG! You have visited one of my most favourite cities! I have a real soft spot for Rome and I loved your post Zeki, sooo entertaining! I would have loved to make my own Magnum too (Italians probs dont like that as they love their gelato, I do too). Your next stop is Malta and yesterday I met their new Consul General in Melbourne, a lovely lady, who told me her country is a beautiful one. Hope you all enjoy going there. Lots of love to you all…
